The average time spent looking down at your phone while driving is about 5 seconds. At 55 mph that’s like traveling the length of a football field with a blindfold on. Distracted driving is self-centered and reckless. It’s time to say no to distracted driving!
On April 5th, Our Distracted Driving Thunderclap campaign will share our Interact Distracted Driving efforts with millions of people around the world. Please join the cause!
Rotary District 5320 Interactors, together with other Rotarians and Rotary Interactors from around the world, are trying to stop distracted driving. This year, we’re on a mission to raise awareness as to the dangers of distracted driving and, to stop distracted driving once and for all!
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and on April 5th, Interactors will be using Thunderclap to share their work and message with the world using social media. On this date, the following message will automatically be shared by the Thunderclap platform to the followers of those supporters who have joined the distracted driving campaign. As of this date, 2,436,440 people will receive the following message at 5 pm ET:
“Please help #Rotary Interactors stop #DistractedDriving and save lives! #StopDD http://thndr.me/G4NNPN”
If you’d like to be part of the Rotary Interactor’s Thunderclap campaign (and we hope you are), please click this link, share this page, and become part of the solution.
Thank you for supporting Rotary Interact and saving lives!
October 5th is “Distracted Driving Awareness Day”
Fly Your Blue Ribbon!
Rotary Interactors across the globe are joining with other concerned Rotarians and citizens and helping raise awareness as to the dangers of distracted driving. To show their support, Interactors are proudly placing one or more blue ribbons on their vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle, bike, skateboard, surfboard…) to promote the cause. We’re asking that you do too!
The blue ribbon will start conversations and help save lives. We’re also asking that everyone please post pictures of your blue ribbon vehicle on social media and at StopDD.today using #StopDD. On October 5th we are asking the EVERYONE turn your phone off BEFORE turning your car on!
When asked about why you’re flying your blue ribbon, share your story, StopDD.today, and “Distracted Driving Awareness Day”. Let’s all work together as a community to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and save lives!
